This crazy illustration was something I came up with when commissioned by the company Coastal Concepts. They asked for something wild and imaginative so I poured myself a cup of coffee and worked my Wacom for about 9 hours. I think it took me a couple of days to do this and draw every little detail. Overall, I quite like how the drawing came out, but feel like I could have done more with the background and how it fit on the tee.

that shirt is sick. i love the detail in the worms like that little arm. another awesome piece.
I like it overall, it is crazy and I suspect I would have to sit here staring at it for a hour to spot all the little details. However, you’re right, you could have done more work on the background. I reckon if the background had been worked on more, it would have made the entire thing pop more.
Nice work Jeff, I like the texture and perspective. Do you usually stay in Photoshop when you illustrate? or use some Illustrator as well?
This was all done in Photoshop. I usually use PS when I’m illustrating because I like the way it handles Wacom pressure. It feels more natural and isn’t always trying to correct my lines.
Although I realize PS is definitely not the best app to handle wacom pressure (the lines can sometimes get jagged or squiggly and sometimes the lag/slowdown can be annoying). Manga Studio, I’ve heard, is great with a Wacom.
Hey Jeff, i like the design and detail. With the background i think you could maybe reduce size and possibly use some heraldry for shape and placement for the tee. if you were to cut the tee into thirds and the design in the bottom 2/3 with heraldry background and possibly Japanese sunrise effect for the top 3rd – at least that’s how i see the placement in my head.
I like this one. It makes your eye carry across the piece without being chaotic. Visually interesting.
i like alot about the details that this picture has. there is just so much to explore..
Looks great! I especially love the way it looks in the mock-up for the article header.
I’m not sure I would wear it. A little too cute. It’s great art though, and definitly has that Finley vibe.
Your shirt Dees are so hip…I’m very old school in mine but when I get someone lookin’ for Fresh, Cutting Edge ideas I’m sending ‘em here.

God…! This is the best t-shirt design ever! Will you share it for me =]?? I would love to print it for my own….
Dude~ this is awesome!
i wonder what is the spec of wacom did you use?
the size?
This is sick. Its like a psilocybin trip, it just jumps out at ya! Why can’t I buy this anywhere?
Very playful and visually intriguing design. I like it much better applied in the t-shirt than in the stand alone image. The shirt makes it a bit more grungy looking.
I just subscribed to your site. Nice work man.
